AEM 6.2 Asset finder Sidepanel Select Tag(s) tag selector for Images pointing to "/etc/tags/properties" by default

Is there a reason why Asset Finder Sidepanel -> Select Tag(s) tag selector pointing to "/etc/tags/properties" for "Image" option by default? It's pointing to "/etc/tags" for Videos option.

We have created tags under our project directory "/etc/tags/projectname", our authors are not able to select those tags due to above reason. I know that we have to overlay this particular node under /apps/setting to solve the issue. But just curious to know if it's the product issue or done for a reason and to see any way to update the path without doing any code change.
