Activation of related pages

Hi,

I have an image dogA.jpg which is used in a number of pages(which these pages are it's not known to the author). The author updates the binary of the image but the image name remains the same(uploads retouched image with same name, dogA.jpg). When they activate the updated image, will they be promted to activate all pages that reference dogA.jpg?

all pages will be referencing the image & does not have own copy at page level. So it is not required to activate the page.   However if you are activating the page & referenced image is not activated or modified then it will provide a option to activate all referenced assets.
