We would like to have an option to create a new asset shell on the fly as a placeholder.
Use-case:
Experience Manager is integrated into our workflow. The double asset creation (in Photoshop and in Experience Manager) plus the additional temporary local saving interrupts the workflow and leads to irritation, filled up local drive with temp files and hinders acceptance of usage.
Current/Experienced Behavior:
User has to create a new asset first in the relevant software.
Save the asset to a local hard drive
Create and upload the asset to Experience Manager
Improved/Expected Behavior:
In the asset screen, the user can click "Create".
A new screen shows up where the user enters size, file format, predefined meta data (creator, project name, other properties)
A new asset placeholder is created from the specifications and a link provided
User can now open the placeholder and edit it in programs like InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Environment Details (AEM version/service pack, any other specifics if applicable):
@sbluhm this is supported if the user has Adobe Express entitlement - they can create a new asset (or placeholder) in the new Assets view in My Workspace
