Can you sort on Filter of assets on the out of the box program? We are using 6.5.8.0.

You only have few metadata on which you can sort OOTB on author . For sorting on any other filter , you would need customization. Check logic here : /libs/granite/ui/components/shell/collectionpage/viewsettings
