BCC functionality changing the bounce address

We set up archiving on-premise as documented in https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/campaign-classic/using/installing-campaign-classic/additional-configurations/email-archiving.html

It seems that the BCC'd emails have a different Return-path address than the orignals. This is not the desired behavior as we have a dedicated bounce address available, in case the BCC mailbox has issues.

Has anybody encountered this issue or any suggestions to solve this?
