Timestamp - Workspace vs. Downstream

Avatar

Hi All,

I wanted to ask a question around if the time in Adobe Workspace is different than the downstream data for timestamps/dates, etc.? Please see "hit_time_gmt" here for reference downstream: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/export/analytics-data-feed/data-feed-contents/d.... Not sure about upstream.

Thanks!

@skatofiabah Yes, the data will be based on your report suite time zone.

Hello @skatofiabah In the data feed, you will get the timestamp based in the UNIX format. But in the workspace you will have an option to either get in UNIX time or ISO 8601 time.

Here is more info about timestamp: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/implementation/vars/page-vars/timestamp

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

How do I know if the dates and times align or are on different time zones or something?

@skatofiabah Data feeds honor the time zone for which the report suite is configured. So it will be the same time zone as your report suite time zone. Which you can find in General Account Settings in Report Suite Manager.

Time zone of the report suite can be found under

Admin > Report Suites > Select report suite > Edit Settings > General > General Account Settings.

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

So it sounds like there isn't a difference in time between Workspace and downstream, if I pull July 2024 in both environments for example?

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

Any reason page view counts for downstream might be different vs. upstream Adobe Analytics?

Refer to this Experience Cloud KCS Documentation on page views differ in workspace and data feed.

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

I removed the "Post_" prefix in my columns downstream and I'll still 2k page views short.

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

See the link to my post from earlier: https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-analytics-questions/pageview-count-downstream...

I reference a bunch of adobe articles and include the right filters, but it's still short.

@skatofiabah What is the variance percentage compared to workspace?

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

It's 5% variance with 2k less page views downstream compared to upstream. Please see my post with the SQL and filters I'm using downstream and my upstream comparison.

@skatofiabah looked at your query, did you changed 'exclude_hit = 0' to 'exclude_hit > 0' to remove excluded hits from queries on raw data? That's the only difference i can see from the one of the response from the thread i posted above.

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

I tried that and also hit in 5,7,8,9 and both returned 0 page views.

That's strange, might be helpful if you create a support ticket with the client care. Maybe they will get to the bottom of it.

Hi @Krishna_Musku,

I realized my between function wasn't including July 31. I adjusted and now on a daily level in july, my page views are off by about 1-2 pageviews between workspace and downstream. Any reason for this?
