This is a compatibility issue between locale/font settings and Java's latest update. Until an update to ad hoc is released, use the following workaround:

  1. Go to Tools > Settings
  2. Click the Font and Locale tab
  3. Change the font and locale to <default>.
  4. Restart Ad Hoc Analysis.

A huge thank you to Kush Soni for the workaround. If it does not work for you, please reply to this thread.

The issue has been resolved internally. Once validated, it is expected to be publicly fixed during our next maintenance release, scheduled for February 18th 2016.
