How to configure Report Builder for "Total Daily Unique Visitors" on filtered report?

In Report Builder when I use "Total Daily Unique Visitors" it gives the site total of the time period rather than the total for the filtered list of Daily Unique Visitors for the time period.

If I use the metric of "Daily Unique Visitors" and Subtotal(this request) is sums across the rows over counting the same visitor on different rows.

My searches online and in the forum were un-productive.

Thanks,
BK

Let me put this another way....

Is there a way to use Report Builder to get accurate Daily Unique Visitors that doesn't over count visitors buy summing rows? If I bring back two pages and the same visitor was on both pages Report Builder's "subtotal" method counts the same visitor twice rather than once as Adobe Reports & Analytics does. Am I missing a trick? Or, put another way how do I get the value over multiple page rows of Daily Unique Visitors in Report Builder as I do in Reports & Analytics?  I've searched online and posted on the Adobe forum but no solutions/responses.

Ah, Adobe's Jen Lasser (Bessette) provided this answer that works:

"The only way to get a true unique visitor total I believe would be to create a segment for the pages you want to count... Then, apply that segment to the ‘unique visitor’ metric from a Site Totals or Site Metrics report. “Sub-total” won’t get you what you need because that sums across the rows for you."

Thanks Jen

Hi BK, could you provide a grid or something visual of how you'd like your Report Builder request laid out? Having a visual of how you'd like your data structured would provide a much more concrete foundation to give you a solution.
