When I go to the " Launch AD HOC ANALYSIS" button, all I get is a "discover.jnlp" file. What do I do with it? How come I don't get the client in the browser?

@Michael, do you know if you have a recent version of Java installed on your computer?

The Java Web Start launcher that Akhil mentioned is part of Java (JRE), and it's what would be opening the .jnlp files on your computer.

If you're not sure if you have Java installed, or you might have an older version installed, you can download the latest from: http://www.java.com/

If you continue to get this problem, this article should help to resolve any Java issues: https://www.java.com/en/download/help/troubleshoot_java.xml

I have a new laptop and Java was not installed. I installed it and everything is OK now.

Thanks!

Dear Michael,

Ad hoc analysis is a browser independent tool.
All you need to do is save the discover.jnlp file and launch it either by double clicking it or opening with Java Web Start Launcher.

When I click it, I get a windows dialog box that says "Windows can't open file" and wants me to choose a program to open it with.
