AEP Shopify Connector with Adobe Analytics

Hello, I am trying to create a connection between AEP and Shopify. I followed the tutorial available but seem to be running into an authentication issue. I have both the storefront access token, as well, the admin access token.

Can someone please clarify what "{HOST}" is and the format that I should be entering into AEP?

Ah, I see the {HOST} you are talking about... this should be populated with your shopify host.. I am guessing that this should be the https://shopify.site.com or https://www.site.com domain...

If this isn't populated correctly, this is likely the main factor in your authentication failing... basically you have provided an account authentication token... but not told it what to actually connect to.

The reason that the screenshot shows {HOST} is that this is sort of a standard placeholder for a value, without posting a real value... honestly though, I would prefer them using something like fakedomain.com or https://www.fakedomain.com so that you can actually see the format that is expected....

When you get the auth tokens from Shopify, does it provide host information? If it does, I would start with that.

Good luck!

Hi,

I don't use Shopify, but would you be able to share the tutorial you are using? Is this an Adobe created tutorial, or one created by Shopify? if the latter, it's possible there is something out of date or just missing (I've seen this before in vendor documentation).

By seeing what you are looking at, I might be able to see some potential things to try, or maybe sport something that looks odd in the instructions...

And possibly in the meantime, someone using Shopify might also have some tips to share.

To create a connection between Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Shopify, you'll need to follow the available tutorial. However, if you're encountering an authentication issue, it's important to ensure that you have both the storefront access token and admin access token.

Regarding your question about "{HOST}," this refers to the Shopify domain that you're trying to connect to. This will typically be in the format of your-store-name.myshopify.com. When entering this into AEP, you should replace "{HOST}" with your Shopify domain.

For example, if your Shopify domain is "example-store.myshopify.com," you would enter "example-store.myshopify.com" into the appropriate field in AEP, replacing "{HOST}" with your actual domain name. Make sure to enter the domain name exactly as it appears in Shopify, including any capitalization or special characters.

By correctly entering your Shopify domain in AEP, you should be able to resolve the authentication issue and successfully create the connection between the two platforms.
