I can't take too much credit, it wasn't my post 🙂

One last tip in case you are an admin: if you delete a user in the admin console, you can easily put them and all their assets back. However, if you delete them under admin > analytics > analytics users & assets, it's like an atomic nuke. I don't even think Adobe can help you after....

Glad this helped!

Hi Christel, thanks for the tip! Yes, I learned that the hard way......Adobe really can't help you anymore if you delete a user there 😞

Just a FYI, with this approach, previously, deleted projects were never purged from the system. So you could easily restore the project by replacing the project IDs or URL, but there has been a change. Since 2024, we have now started purging deleted projects after 180 days. During the 180 days after deletion, users can still access a deleted project via the Web interface if they have a URL or IDs to the project. If the project is 180 days old and is deleted, it's gone forever and can't be restored. (https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/release-notes/previous/2024#:~:text=Change%20to...)

This is interesting info....

Just an update - Projects that are deleted are immediately deleted from scheduled deliveries and are no longer accessible by their URL. It seems this was updated with the latest release.

Hi Faraz, I have tested this and indeed the project is indeed really gone. We hare trying to use the api for daily backups. If you create a json from the project, you can restore it later.
