YOY trends/data

Adobe you are so far behind the game to your competitors with year over year reporting.  How hard is it to show two datasets in one trend/report?  This should be in all programs; sitecat, ad hoc, analysis workspace.  From the basic metric of visits 2015 versus visits 2014; one snapshot, one graph, two trend lines.  It is easy to look at and compare vs the painful download one chunk of data, now download the next chunk of data and graph yourself in excel.  (Google Analytics and Coremetrics can do this and have been able to for years)

This should really apply to all time frames!  Select your time frame A and time frame B and compare.  Whether its week over week, month over month, year over year.

I totally agree with this idea, and it is coming to Analysis Workspace, hopefully very soon.

Relatedly, while I absolutely understand your frustration, what other vendors do and do not have in their products doesn't (and shouldn't, and won't) dictate our product roadmap.

Ben I totally agree that Adobe's roadmap shouldn't be based on other competitors products.  However, I feel this is such a basic request, and especially noticable when you flip flop between products (based on what your clients have), that you have to question why it hasn't been done yet.  Adobe is so advanced and robust in so many ways.

Looking forward to having the ability soon in AW!

Thanks!

@jnsmith: Understood, agreed, and appreciated! I hope we can get this done for you soon -- it's one of our absolute top things we want to see in Analysis Workspace.

I see a LOT of requests here, when I search, for rolling dates. Advanced/dynamic date range creation has been available in Report Builder for a very long time. Ad Hoc only has pre-configs or static ranges. In Analysis Workspace, the ability to create a custom range and then choose it to roll is almost there, but not really, because it still doesn't fit the very simple use case above, one that most other BI tools offer.

We also do a lot of our reporting out of Report Buildier with Month-over-month comparisons, week-over-week comparisons, quarters that do not align with calendar year quarters, etc.

And, we'll need to stack those ranges inside of calculated metrics, because nobody looking at AW should need to calculate a YoY difference.

@ACGrainger We are hoping to have this available in our Fall 2016 release. That date is subject to change, but we are aggressively pushing toward it.

Moving to "In Progress" since this will be in private beta soon, still tracking toward an October release date. For everyone's information, this will only be available in Analysis Workspace as we continue to move toward that environment as the future of our UI.
