To use Dimension as filters in AA, you have to go into the desired dimension or segment and select the item/s you want then drag it/them to the filter box to make single filter or a dropdown (Shift + drag multiple items). Some of the items are listed by rank (hits), others alphabetically, which can be good for one use and bad for another. Ideally, the user could toggle that behavior in the selector.

Examples:

We have a Product classification for internal Business Groups. If I create a table of Product orders by Business Group, then the rows appear ranked by the metric. If I want to add a dropdown filter with Business Groups alphabetically, I have to go into the dimension, search for items one by one, then either Ctrl + Select and Shift + drag a group, hoping I don't make a mistake in the middle of it, or else individually search and drag one at a time. So here, I'd like sort the list alphabetically.

Conversely, we have another custom dimension set up for the user's selected language, and this is listed alphabetically, but I'd like to populate the dropdown with the top 10 languages. So I'd like to re-sort the dimension item list to rank by hits.

To use a dimension as a filter in Adobe Analytics, you need to navigate to the desired dimension or segment and select the items you want to filter by. You can then drag these items to the filter box to create a single filter, or you can use the Shift key to drag multiple items and create a dropdown.

Depending on the dimension, the items may be listed by rank (hits) or alphabetically. This can be useful in some cases but not in others. Ideally, the user should be able to toggle between these sorting behaviors in the dimension selector.

For example, if you have a product classification for internal business groups and you want to create a table of product orders by business group, the rows will appear ranked by the metric. If you want to add a dropdown filter with business groups listed alphabetically, you'll need to go into the dimension, search for each item one by one, and either use Ctrl+Select and Shift+drag to select a group or individually drag each item. In this case, it would be helpful to sort the list alphabetically.

On the other hand, if you have a custom dimension set up for a user's selected language and the items are listed alphabetically, but you want to populate the dropdown with the top 10 languages, you'll need to sort the dimension item list by hits
