Align column headers in exported Excel reports

When exporting a report in Excel format, the column headers in the data table are always misaligned. For example, if I export the "Tracking Code" report, the "Tracking Code" column header will be in column B, but the list of codes is actually in column C. This can be extremely irritating when sharing the reports with other people, who may be unaware of the misaligned columns. The misaligned columns also make the report more difficult to read quickly.

This bug has been around since day one of SiteCatalyst 14. It would be really, really, really cool if this bug could finally be fixed.

This has been a real issue not just enhancement. More than once have seen analytst grab the wrong total directly below a given column in Excel but was really for another column.

Yes, this would be helpful and it would be less time consuming to keep correcting excel docs when reporting on data. Thx!

I couldn't agree more strongly.  I just brought this up with ClientCare a week ago.  It's really not an enhancement request, though, it's a bug fix.

Shout-out to David Labbe in ClientCare for pointing out that we actually did implement this feature in SiteCatalyst v14.5. However, we didn't automatically enable it for all users because many had automated processes that relied on the old format. The good news is that you can turn it on and see if it does the trick by going to Admin > Admin Console. Once in the Admin Console, go to Admin Console > Company, then the Preferences tab. Choose the current versions of Excel Renderer and CSV Renderer. This should really resolve the majority of Excel alignment problems, except for some found in dashboards. Look forward to dashboard alignment fixes in the upcoming release of SiteCatalyst v14.7.

Thanks - that does work!

Now if we could only get Excel to download the full event/metric names instead of  "Even..."   Seriously why not download the full names - Excel knows how to wrap cell contents?
