A Persistent Variable Across Multiple Visits

Hi,

Can we have a specific variable or a data element which I can use or carry forward from one visit to another?

Ex: I have selected USA as my country in my earlier visit, and can I have any data element or a variable where it can hold that across multiple visits?

I am referring to something similar to a local storage in the browser.

if it is something important like "language", "country", ... I would ask the devs to implement a cookie for the user to save the information.

otherwise just set the cookie with DTM/Launch and read the value of the cookie using a data element

What about the Adobe Marketing ID.

Its permanent and can last for Years. Caveats.

if users accesses from a different device they will get a new ID

If users clears cookies they will get a new ID

Other than that its very useful.
