How Asset Insights with AEM Assets Work Together with Adobe Analytics:

  1. DAM Asset is published using AEM Author.
  2. Analytics, Pagetracker, and Custom Scripts are delivered to the page by Launch.
  3. Analytics gets added to Launch as an extension with report-suite details and a custom tracking code.
  4. Adobe Analytics captures Asset Impressions and Asset Clicks.
  5. Adobe Analytics captures Asset Insights into AEM Asset variable into a real-time data Report Suite. Real-time data collection and AEM Asset reporting require enablement for the Adobe Analytics Report Suite.
  6. Adobe Analytics facilitates report send for AEM Asset Variables (Impressions and Clicks). Enabling AEM Asset Reporting reserves analytics variables for tracking asset insights.

Using Asset Insights in AEM:

To display usage statistics for assets in Assets Insights, you must configure the feature to fetch reporting data from Adobe Analytics. Assets Insights functionality allows for the tracking of user ratings and usage statistics of images used in third-party websites, marketing campaigns, and Adobe’s creative solutions to provide insights into the performance and popularity of the images. If the integration configuration is correct, Assets Insights will capture user activity details, specifically the count of an image's is ratings, clicks, and impressions. Asset Insights then assigns scores to images based on these statistics. Using Asset scores and performance statistics, you can select the most popular images among your users for inclusion in marketing campaigns and other important content. Using Asset Insights in AEM, you can leverage the Usage Statistics section to identify which campaigns or projects the asset belongs to and which creative solutions recently used it. The higher the asset usage, the more likely it is that the asset is popular among users. Therefore, you can decide which assets will drive the most user engagement to your content. You can also view aggregate statistics for images to understand usage scores for the assets and compare the ratings of the various assets to derive more meaningful insights.

Using AEM Assets Reporting in Analytics:

AEM Assets Reporting enables asset reporting in Analytics. Enabling Analytics to collect impressions and clicks on Assets served up from AEM Asset Insights will add new dimensions to the Asset Variables in Analysis Workspace, specifically Asset ID, Asset Source, and Clicked Asset ID. This integration also adds new dimensions to the Asset Events, known as Asset Clicks and Asset Impressions. The Impressions score represents the number of times the asset loads on the site and only sets the Impressions event for assets seen by the visitor. The number displayed under Clicks is the number of times the visitor clicks the asset. Reporting on AEM Assets in Adobe Analytics will allow you to analyze your assets more meaningfully to help uncover which assets drive engagement and better tailor content to your website.
