Adobe Marketo Engage

I recently created an email campaign nested in a default program. The leads in this program all received the email. I have a completely separate nurture campaign and somehow these leads received the first email from this program through a background campaign. I have never had this issue and am trying to find out more about background campaigns and how I can prevent them from causing leads to receive emails or join programs I don't want them to. Any help or information is greatly appreciated--thanks!

Hi All,  Former Marketo Champion here (despite my new level/profile!) but this is something I have never come access or had to answer before so hopefully someone can provide some info etc.   Due to the business requirements we had and the 1:1 nature of the native sync with Salesforce we had to build a custom connector to sync using an integration layer. Custom Fields were all added and data was all loaded in etc and syncing with all the standard Marketo objects (and some custom ones) programs running etc but the ask now is to go back to the native connector (yay!). The question I have is, as my gut feel is a clean instance would be better to sync to as everything will come down normally in an out of the box standard way -  if we disable our custom connector and then enable the native sync what are the gotchas do you think.    And any recommendations on this approach?   Thanks in advance!    

I've found documentation on how to append data to a field by using the Change Data Value flow along with tokens. But is it also possible to append data when it's submitted through a form?   We have a text field where people can write down their inquiry details. It would be helpful to append this data each time the lead/contact returns to our website to fill out a form with a new inquiry. At the moment, the newest value just overwrites the existing value.    Can this be done on the form side or only through smart campaigns with the Change Data Value flow step?

What is the benefit? Trying to get my head around a URL problem and wondering if this could be the solution. Thank you.

Hello Everybody,I have a question I'd really appreciate your help with.So i've created a custom activity (let's call it "shop visit") with a bunch of attributes ("visit datestamp", "visit status", etc).I'm wondering if there's a way I can go beyond using those to trigger a campaign but to use them as tokens to populate an email I'd be sending to a lead, something like:Hi,You successfully visited us at {{trigger.visit datestamp}} and your visit was {{trigger.visit status}}As far as I know there's no way to use custom activities as token to update email copy, but maybe there's a way I can transfer the custom activity attribute values to custom fields in Marketo? Maybe some formula? I don't see a way to do that using email scripting either. And I can't think of a way to do that right now and I'd hate having to populate custom fields via API as it ruins the elegance of the whole solution.All help would be highly appreciated.Cheers,Paul

I have enabled personalized urls in my Admin > Landing Page settings and on the langing page I am trying to set up with personalized urls. When I'm testing the landing page, there is no personalized url. What is the trick to setting up the url so it will appear as "info.smg.com/C-store/john-smith"??I tried to edit my url settings on the landing page and add a token in the url builder, but it wouldn't let me save with the {{ }}characters. What am I missing?

Is anyone aware of up-to-date Marketo-specific email marketing statistics and benchmarks by industry? I can see other platforms like Mailchimp or Hubspot updating theirs pretty regularly.

Many would think, is it possible to use Account related custom objects in velocity scripting? Yes, it is provided it is created and lookup field is mapped correctly.   When the SFDC Custom Object (linked with a SFDC Account) is the child object where SFDC Account Object as a Parent, then only we can use the custom object data in Velocity Scripting.   Let me show an example:   Have the SFDC Admin create the custom object associated with an Account with a Lookup field to the Account Object This ensures the custom object is the child object and Account object is the Parent Eg:     Create other fields on this custom object and save Enter the data for this custom object Ensure the Sync user has access to all the fields of this custom object as well as this object Eg.     Sync the custom object with Marketo Refresh the schema Identify the newly created custom object Click Enable Sync Remember, you can sync any custom object upto 2-level deep

We have a continuing education site that is sitting on a SaaS LMS platform, ThoughtIndustries.   We want to collect email addresses via a Marketo form on the homepage for those interested in receiving our newsletter, however, the TI platform has very limited ways in which you can add outside code.  For embeds, they only allow HTML insertion, and whenever we try to input the Marketo script into the custom code widget, it doesn't display the form.  I reached out to TI support and they said "put it on a landing page and iframe it."  I attempted to do that via a Marketo landing page, but none of the fields within the iframe were clickable.     What is the best way to get a Marketo form onto this platform?  Is it even possible?  I do see they have a webhooks option, and can explore that further, but wondering if anyone else has run into this issue where the direct embed code is not usable.

Hello, community!   My company integrates Marketo and Salesforce and sometimes there are sync errors.   I keep track of these errors with the SFDC Sync errors report, and built a smart list to track people who didn't sync at all (person was created in the past 1 day + sfdc create date is empty).   A certain number of people not synced per day is expected (there are duplicates, people we don't want to sync, bots etc.), but I'd love to receive an email if the smart list has above a certain number of people.   For example, 20 people with sync errors per day is expected, but if there are 50 people, then we should worry.    Is there a way to send an alert via email only if a smart list is longer than a specific number of people?

Hi Team,   Please help with this question: Do operational email affect other emails, For example, if two non operational emails are sent in a week, then an operational one, then another non operational email is sent, will that last email be affected?   Currently the email communication limits set is 1/day and 3/week. So if two non operational emails sent in a week and then an operational one and then another non operational email  - will this last non operational email will be sent ? because already three email/week is sent or limit is only applicable only for non operational emails, the limit ignores the operational email count?.   Thanks, Deepthi.

Hello All,   I need to add multiple tokens in the Change Data value flow step to accomplish one requirement: Need to stamp the last suppression reason of a lead and the updated one in a single field attribute "Suppression Reason" as highlighted below (this screenshot is for a single case only as I have added multiple other CDV's for the same): As per the Marketo documentation, multiple tokens can be used in Interesting Moment, Create Task, and Send Alert flow steps. So just wanted to check if there is any way to do it for CDV too ?

Hello there,   I am looking to hide my submit button from my Form if specific selections are made within the drop down of the form. How can I make this work? Please direct me to the correct path as this is my first time trying to execute such a thing.  In this form, if a person selects Agency/Consultants, Apply to be a contributor or Support for current contributors the form Submit button should disappear while a message pops up. I was able to hide the rest of the fields and get the message appear using the visibility rules. But I am not sure how to make the Submit button disappear once either of those selections are made.  Thank You!
