Hi,  I would like to get best practice on changing the timing on an engagement program. If I have 3 pieces of content (emails) in stream 1, where the standard timing is restricted to weekly of monthly, how do I change the cadence to the following in stream 1 which requires the ability to define daily?  STREAM 1:  Email 1 - send on Monday   - if send 1 opens, send email 4-in stream 2  / if unopened send email 2Email 2 - send of Wednesday -  if send 2 opens, send email 4-in stream 2  / if unopened send email 3 Email 3 - send on Friday   if send 3 opens, send email 4-in stream 2  / if unopened consider EXHAUSTED.    STREAM 2:  Email 4    Thank you  AJA    

Hi,   We have observed an issue and this is mainly focused on the data sync between Marketo and SFDC. T To share the insights - "if a lead exists in Marketo and syncs over to SFDC, and then SFDC converts the lead to a Contact. Currently, there is a duplicate record gets created in Marketo with the same email address from the SFDC end."   1. Lead A gets created in Marketo  2. Lead A syncs over to SFDC 3. SFDC -> Lead gets converted to a Contact 4. Lead B gets created in Marketo with same email address of Lead A   Can someone help me to understand the working of this or how we can resolve this issue?

I am trying to create a "Set Success" campaign for an email that I did an A/B test on. When I try to use the filter, "Opened Email," the only option it gives me is "EMAIL NAME. Subject Line Test."    Since the email went out this morning, do I need to give it more time for the entire email (not the subject line test) to be an option in the "Opened Email" filter?   Thanks! 

I know there are a bunch of built in company and person tokens from viewing this page but I can't figure out where the data for those tokens would be stored in Marketo. Also, it says "Custom person fields also work if you use their display name" so trying to understand how I would create a custom field name. I don't want to use "my tokens". I would prefer the information to be populated on the backend rather than in the my tokens section for every email.    Thanks for your help in advance!!

Does anyone know how to set an email engagement program stream so when a new lead is added to the engagement program, they first wait 2 days, then they are added to the engagement stream and receive the first email, then once a week from that day and so on until the stream is exhausted. For example, John D is added to the engagement program, the flow step waits 2 days, then the next step is to add them to the engagement stream 1, then they receive the first email say on Wednesday, then continue to receive 1 email a week every Wednesday for 3 more weeks as there are 4 emails in the stream.    Any thoughts, suggestions, hacks are greatly appreciated. Thx!

We've been experiencing a salesforce sync issue for a while and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions to fix it.  We run a lot of automation based on the contact lead status field in SF.  We're seeing an issue where marketo will have the right status on the lead, but when the lead is converted in SF, marketo will pull the converted lead status (which is "Converted") into marketo as the new person status.     This Converted status will then push to the SF contact.  Is there any way to prevent marketo from syncing a converted lead status?  Any advice would be appreciated.  

Greetings everyone! I have a fresh new Marketo record that came in via web form, and they are being blocked from SalesForce. Upon checking the error message in the activity log, I see that SalesForce is returning the following error:  {DUPLICATES_DETECTED: You're trying to create a duplicate record we suggest you select an existing record.} Upon searching in SFDC, I found a Contact that clearly pre-dates the Marketo record, that seems to have never synced over to Marketo. I've seen this a handful of times with our systems, as we have a number of records in SFDC that existed before we integrated our Marketo instance who have stubbornly refused to sync over to Marketo's database. My question is, do I have a way to force the two systems to make the connection between the Marketo record and the existing Contact in SFDC? To my knowledge, there are no fields in the SFDC Contact that would be "hiding" it from Marketo's sync user, so I'm a bit at a loss as to why they haven't synced. Appr

I've set up an automated Birthday Email campaign following the instructions for two smart campaigns provided by the Sending a Birthday Message post. Both smart campaigns are set so each person can only run through the campaigns once every 364 days. However, on the person's birthday, the birthday email is sent to each person multiple times until the communication limit is reached. Why is this email being sent multiple times?   Batch Campaign Notes: 1/1/1900 is sometimes used as a default date if DOB is empty. The countries are limited to only North & South America for time zone reasons.    Trigger Campaign (inactive until I resolve the issue)

I'm using Bizible touchpoints to identify referrals sign ups on our website. Question is, user lands on our website with a link like this testsite.com/signup/?utm_source=external_partners&utm_medium=referrals&REFERRALCODE=testreferral but doesn’t sign up right away. When they land again on testsite.com and sign up, does it still capture the original link used? As landing page? Or is the landing page now going to be testsite.com?

Hi - I imagine this is a really basic question, but I'm trying to help out a client. They have set up email programs, and we would like the member status to update as the user takes action. However, 100% of the members continue to just have the status "Sent". It never updates to the other options: Delivered, Opened, Clicked, etc. How would I get this to update?   I found this documentation: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/marketo/using/product-docs/core-marketo-concepts/smart-campaigns/program-flow-actions/change-program-status.html?lang=en  However, it is light on details. Does anyone know of better documentation for making sure that campaign members have their status updated correctly for each email?  

Address-like formats like sandy [at] figureone [dot] com usually make me cringe because they’re feeble attempts at security.   (The concept is that address-harvesting bots won’t know these are email addresses. Quite ridiculous, as you’ve just substituted one recognizable format for another!)   But there is one place where spelling out “at” instead of the “@” sign makes sense: the display name part of a From: header.   You won’t know this if you don’t test your emails thoroughly, but a From: header like this is deemed suspicious by iOS Mail: From: "Sandy @ FigureOne" <sandy@figureone.com>   The app sees the display name “Sandy @ FigureOne” as a possible phishing attempt because it looks like an email address but doesn’t match the real address (“sandy@figureone.com”).   So it’ll display the real address instead, spoiling your attempt at being friendly:   Instead, avoid the literal “@” sign: From: "Sandy at

Hi, We market to dozens of different brands in our Marketo instance, yet when someone unsubscribes from one brand (i.e. "Cool Shoes" brand) I notice their same email address is unsubscribed from "Airplanes R'Us" brand.   These are completely different brands and the person only wants to unsubscribe from one brand, but are being unsubscribed from all brands that use the same email address.   Does anyone have any experience working around this?   Thanks, Jared

Hi community,   I've received a request from Sales to create a template so we can send plain text emails to make them look like they are coming directly from a rep. I'm wondering what happens with the footer section where we include socials but also the unsubscribe link, copyright and all that legal stuff.   Does anyone do this?   Thanks!

Hello - I'm trying to clarify if the "in time frame = today" date constraint is referring to the calendar day, or with the past 24 hour day.For example, I have a smart campaign running daily to check to see if anyone currently in a specific campaign flow has a changed status code (which would mean they no longer are applicable to get the 2nd email message), and if so it's using a "remove from flow" step to remove them from that particular campaign.  This campaign runs every day at 9:45am. Am I only getting people that match the criteria from midnight to 9:45am? Or am I getting people who matched the criteria in the past 24 hours?

Hello,   Could we modify the design of the error message when a field is required in a form? For instance, instead of having a text in white in a red bubble like in the screenshot, have just under the field a red text on a line with an exclamation mark icon. I've found this post: https://nation.marketo.com/t5/product-discussions/form-error-message-placement/m-p/144388#M99204 that informs we can add some CSS.   For a form embedded on a non-Marketo landing page, should we add the CSS in the CSS of the form settings in Marketo or in the code of the page of our CMS (Adobe Experience Manager)? Hi!   I am creating a new Nurture program that will contain 1 nurture stream. When the members exhaust that content, we want them to transfer to a different nurture program ( program 2).  Our company has existing nurture programs, but it is my first time setting up a brand new one so I would appreciate some guidance.    Q1:  What are the minimum basic smart campaigns that one should set up to make it flow properly?    Q2:  I've read that it is best when the entry qualification/criteria for the engagement program/stream are just one, but in my case, I have two entry criteria (triggers) for folks that I want to enter into this engagement program ( 1: "new person created" with a specific job title, OR 2)  Can be a new or existing person and they convert in a program that we already have running. ( aka program status changes).    Can I have two smart campaigns for entry based on these two qualifications? Will this work? Is there a bett

Though sometimes overlooked, this out-of-the-box Dashboard provides a great jumping off point to begin to discover gaps in your data and ensuring that you are maximizing your use of Adobe Marketo Engage.   To navigate to the Dashboard, click on the Database tab in the upper left-hand corner of your instance. You will immediately see the Dashboard appear. The green area of the graph represents how many records in your instance are considered Marketable, shown in the example below as 90.9% of the database with roughly 14.3M records. If you hover over the graph, Marketo will show you the total amount of records and which ones are Marketable. By taking the number of Marketable records and dividing it by your total amount of records in your instance, you can find what I call your  % “Non-Marketable." It is best practice to have a minimum of 80% of your database considered Marketable. The following characteristics can make a record fall into the “Non-Marketable” bucket:
