Tracking Mode- User Must Update

Hi, Can anyone tell me when using the task tracking mode- User Must Update what criteria is used to determine the status. I get that if a task is not 100% and it's after the planned completion date it is Late. But what make it At-Risk? What makes it Behind? On-Track? Thanks! Mollie Mollie Shatek JLL
