The Search Function needs love

Ok my DFW peeps i need up votes the search function really needs some love. it needs to be more user friendly. I commented in the idea exchange under: Search, then SEARCH RESULTS BY DATE by Laura Anto I think there are so many good ideas on this and they are all pointing to the simple fact that the search function sucks. Hi Samantha, Have you tried the "Advanced Search" options? There is a drop down in the Search bar and if you use Advanced Search, the results display with column headers. Then you can click on one of the column headers to sort the search results by that column. Warm regards, Carrie McCloud

Yes ma'am. Our naming conventions are the same from year to year and even if I only search projects I still get 3 years' worth of projects that has one or more of the search words I typed in. Funny thing for me is that every search that comes up the phrase I typed in shows as "this was found in the custom form" but has nothing to do with the actual job I want. See below where I typed 2.2.18 overwatch. I got 2017 jobs that have overwatch listed. I would like it to only show 2018 if I put a year. Or at least list this in newer to older order from top to bottom. See there are 2016 jobs in the list too. Thanks for your help.
