New Project Status question

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding the "Set new project status to.." preference: is it possible to have different default statuses for different groups? Currently we have 2 groups opening new projects and one group wants to have a custom status called "Governance" used as their default and the other group wants to have the standard "Planning" as their default for new projects. I know I can change the system-wide default under Setup > Project Preferences > Project Status, but I haven't been able to find where (or if it's even possible) to customize it by group. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Hi: I wish it were so. Everyone can see every possible status. I tried to figure out how to have group specific statuses, but alas, couldn’t. I’d like it for tasks, too. We have agile projects that need different task statuses than the waterfall projects. Its all in there together. Eric

So if you are on the Project Preferences --> Statuses page, at the top right corner across from where you see the word Statuses you'll see a dropdown (see the attached screenshot) that says "System Statuses". If you click on that drop down it will allow you to see all the groups. By selecting a group, you can create custom statuses for that specific group.0690z000007ZkIwAAK.jpg
