Developing Dashboard Reporting

I am looking to develop project reporting, to provide Executive Steering Committee members who are not licensed in Workfront, by putting together multiple (5) reports into a dashboard. We chose the dashboard route in order to be able to print as PDF the dashboard to provide to management, Each report would be prompted by Program Name and contain the following reports: Task completed completed in the prior month filtered by a Custom Form Field Planned Tasks in the coming month filtered by a Custom Form Field A list of Issues tracked on each project under the program One large challenge is that for each report, before running the dashboard, we need to enter the Program in the report prompts. Has anyone else tried to develop this type of reporting? Is there a way to overcome entering the the Program name multiple time for each report prompt? Appreciate any thoughts on this process. If I understand, you have multiple programs that you want ran within the report/s @ one time and don't want to select the program on the prompts every time? Have you tried applying filters within the report saying Program Name = ABC, XYZ, etc.? Jordan Martinson LeaseTeam, Inc.

Jordan, Thanks for the reply. We thought about filtering, and do have prompts for each report to prompt for the Program. However, the challenge is the Dashboard contains 6 reports and we need to enter the program name 6 times in order to run the dashboard. I am looking for ways to enter the program name once. I think the specific feature you're asking for is Under Consideration right now https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115001237027-Single-Prompt-Dashboards and https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115001245567-Allow-for-Criteria-to-be-Set-at-... Another option is to create the 5 reports for EACH program that you have setup. Could be a big pain if you need to tweak the Master report at some point in the future. Grouping by Program name in each report may possibly work depending on your use case. Maybe you could combine grouping by program name and the option of creating seperate reports for each program by including 5-10 programs in each "dashboard set" or something as a creative workaround. Hi Brian, In case it helps you, Matt and I recently discussed this Dashboard Level Prompt concept on "https://community.workfront.com/discussions/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MessageKey=68a11f1a-9b00-4d31-b05c-775d85035b38&CommunityKey=aaafaff0-5e4e-4e38-8903-f1f990935567&tab=digestviewer#bm68a11f1a-9b00-4d31-b05c-775d85035b38">this thread . I've actually found a workaround. I created the dashboard and then added it as a Tab on the Program panel. Now when clicking that tab, al the reports are all defaulted to the program viewed and no prompting is needed. Brian Cohen Gartner

Ah: that's an excellent alternative, Brian, Where all you need is a simple "this" (eg Program) filter and all of the reports on your dashboard are for a single child object type (eg Project), a dashboard on a custom tab does the job neatly.
