Check box results from custom form in report

Hi all. I'm trying to create a report that shows how tasks, which we treat as requests for deliverables, align with certain company objectives. I've created a custom form field and have added it to a variety of custom forms we use for different requests in which the requestor can select one or more check box options to show which objectives the request aligns with. I'd like to be able to run a report that quantifies the number of tasks that align to each option, but I'm running into trouble finding the right Grouping or custom text to do that. I can filter by check box selection, so at least Workfront is picking up this field. Douglas Sampson Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond

Hi Douglas, unfortunately you cannot Group (or produce a Chart) out-of-the-box on a multiselect field. You need to create a calculated field using text mode. See this support article: Group and Chart a Report by a Multi-select Custom Field We have a couple of multiselect custom fields (checkboxes) on our project custom form, and in order to be able to group and produce a chart using this field, we needed to create a calculated field on a custom form. Once we did that, we were able to use that calculated field in groupings and in a chart. Terry Hynd EBSCO Information Services

Hi Douglas, If you ""https://wf-pro.com/textmode/text-mode-views/#group-by-calculated-value">Group By Calculated Value ", you'll have groups of tasks where the items selected are a perfect match. You'll have to give this a try and see. In your case, group.0.valueexpression={DE:Task Category} Another option is to create several reports on a dashboard and adjust the filters for each so you get a summary of each task category. Thank you both! I got the grouping to work, but for some reason I can't get the chart to work. When I try to create a bar chart, I only get a "Task" option for the x axis, which displays only one bar for all the tasks in the report. Any thoughts? My summary tab isn't showing any results as well. Douglas Sampson Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond
