Actual hours vs Baseline hours

I'm trying to create a report that shows the actual hours worked vs the original baseline hours. What I have is a Program with Projects that are all a month long and are set up for the next year. I know how many hours I should be working on these Projects each month and I as start the Project I add Tasks, and Hours, during the month ending up with an actual number. What I want to do is look ahead and be able to say, for example, by July I'll have used all my Hours. So any ideas on how to set up a Report or something that shows this? And/Or is there a way to view a burn-down chart for a Program? Thanks in advance, Aaron Godwin Gentex

Hi Aaron, Spooky. By coincidence, as your email came in, I was finishing a call about creating an "https://www.pmi.org/learning/library/s-curves-monitoring-project-progress-5386">s-curve report to track a Project's Planned, Forecasted, and Actual Percent Complete. I've created these in the past using native Workfront reports (and a LOT of custom data cheats), but this time, am going go a different way. If you're interested, drop me a line at doug.denhoed@atappstore.com. Otherwise: to your question! Normally, I'd suggest a Baseline Task Report (e.g. in order to compare the default baseline against the current project plan) which works well for comparing the "shape" of the project plan as it changes over time. And normally, to get what you're really after -- hours, spread (sensibly) over time. I'd recommend an allocation report. However, As Designed in Workfront, you have to choose one or the other as the basis for your report; and (furthermore) I don't believe that there is an equivalent of an Allocation concept at the Baseline level. So...I think you might be stuck. Regards, Doug Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore SEE you at LEAP using the GPS App! https://tinyurl.com/LEAPGPS Got Skills? Doug, Thanks for the reply. I think I'm just going to have to kick this out to Excel, should be able to get what I'm after there. Thanks, Aaron Godwin Gentex
