Allow custom form to be added to job roles

We have quite a few fields classifying the job roles into a hierarchy (identifying skills / business area etc) and currently have to maintain data about the roles in our data warehouse. If we were able to attach custom forms to job roles then we would be able to add these fields which could then be used in reporting in the tool.

Exact same situation with my instance, need to document years experience, degrees, and exceptions and would like this information in separate fields so it can be referenced for formulas and reporting.

We added a custom form on a person's profile which contains information similar to what you asked for. It wasn't on the role, but the person's profile and we could report on that. Would that work for what you wanted?

Not for my case as we need those pieces of information on both the user AND the Job role.

To further elaborate, we could have rates we charge for Engineering, hypothetical rate classes below

  • Engineer 1: 0-3 years of experience, BS Degree in Engineering
  • Engineer 2: 3-6 years of experience, BS Degree in Engineering
  • Engineer 3: 6+ years of experience, BS Degree in Engineering, MS or PE required

Each rate would correspond with a Job Role at a different price (revenue) and aligned to a company we work with.  Our engineers might work with several companies each with a different rate sheet and set of criteria for use.  So our staff have several different job roles assigned to them aligning to several different clients.

We have used the custom form to capture experience/historical data on our users but cannot do the same with placing that information on the Job Roles.  I would ideally like to add fields for Minimum years experience, Maximum years experience, Degree required, dates the rates are valid for, etc.  That would make the job roles much more useful in my case when we have new users or need to evaluate when users can move up to higher rate classes.
