1 - Does WF have the ability to only let people log the same amount of time (or less) toward the task time that their given within a WF project?

For example, if we give someone an hour task, is there a way they can only put 1hr toward that job if that’s all they’re tasked with and no more?

2 – Is there also a way to get notifications of when a projects actual hours are coming close or off track to the planned hours?

Why is this feature important to you -  to implement time limits (ceiling) to tasks that cannot go over set budgets.

How would you like the feature to work - to not allow team members to enter in more hours that what is budgeted to a particular task.

No on both counts, I'm afraid.

It has floored me since Day 1 that there is no functionality around preventing users assigned to a task from going "over budget."

Yes, you can report on it, but no matter how much I make it bold, red, and sing the Star-Spangled Banner when users go over, if people don't look at the report it's a moot point.

Workfront should have the ability to define a hard limit and if a user tires to put anything over that limit they get an error and must have the Planner decide what to do.

There is no reason to give a Worker so much indirect control over the budget for a project, especially when the Planner isn't even alerted. "Surprises" like this cause alot of panic and busywork.
