WebcamPublisher not prompting

Level 2

I have a WebcamPublisher and a WebcamSubscriber with associated plumbing.

However, I can only get the WebcamPublisher to start publishing (after calling .publish) if I previously go to the Adobe Flash web settings page and allow my site access to my camera. Then the two connect and I can see myself in the WebcamSubscriber.

If I don't previously use the Adobe Flash settings page to allow my site access to my webcam, I don't get any permissions dialog display to prompt the user within the app whether they want to allow access to the webcam. i.e. WebcamPublisher isn't prompting the user for permission.

Is there something else I need to set in order to get WebcamPublisher to prompt the user?

Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit

Flash Player 11.1

Many thanks

This seems to be Ubuntu only and occurs on other Flash sites.

From Windows it's fine, which is a bit of a pain as my app will be running on Linux.
