Text Object Grayed Out/ Disabled in Object Library

I would like to add a Text object to a previously created PDF.  However, when I am in LiveCycle Designer the menu items Text, Rectangle, etc. are grayed out/ disabled and I am not able to insert any of these types of objects, only Text Field, Button, etc.

Any time I select Forms -> Start Form Wizard in Acrobat Pro, I am taken to LiveCycle Designer.  Do I need to add the Text object in another application or am I able to add it some way in LiveCycle?

If the PDF was originally created in Acrobat, you will have to launch the New Form Assistant in LiveCycle Designer (File > New > Import a PDF document). When you get to the 'Setup: Import Options' select 'Create an Interactive Form with Flowable Layout'. All form objects should then be available.
