Split/combine large LiveCycle form

I have a 22-page form that I need to split up btw. 2-3 people.

1. LiveCycle seems to allow any number of people working in the same file at the same time; how is version control handled?

2. Could I - and how? - split the form, have more people work on individual pieces, and then combine the form again? Right now, I am unable to combine two forms created in LiveCycle.

Thanks

Hey there,

Last I checked, you cannot manipulate the pages of a dynamic PDF form, be that adding, removing, reordering or combining.

You can, however, print to the "Adobe PDF" printer to make a static copy of the filled out form, then combine those together.

In which case, you loose fillability etc.

In short, the answer is that you cannot divvy up the work on large projects?

You could wrap each section of your form in a subform and then using either script or manually in Designer set the presence of the subforms to 'hidden' or 'visible' depending on who the form is meant for.

Hi JCAOC,

There are two options that you can choose.

1. Use of fragments. You can use fragment concept to embed splitted forms. Lets say you have spiltted the whole document to 4 people and each have 4 pages to develop. After all the development is done you can combine those using fragments.

2. You can copy the XMLSource of the forms to combine the forms. Lets say you have done from page 1-4. After that you want to add page 5-10. So open the form that contains page 1-4. Click on XMLSource then copy the page xml from 5-10. You have to be very careful from where to copy and where to paste.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Bibhu.

Hi Bibhu -

Both of those suggestions are very helpful and make sense right on the face of it. I'll give it a try - thank you!
