Select Database-Row with Dropdown-List

Iam using LiveCycle Designer 8.2 and I´m quiet satisfied. But I got a Problem with a Database-Connection via ODBC @ an Oracle-Database.
I wanted a Dropdown-List filled by the content of the database-table (already functions), and a selection (or a button-click after the selection) from this dropdown should achieve the content of the row for the choosen ID.
My Problem is, that I don´t know how to select and retrieve the correct datas. When I tried it with SQL-statements, I only got errormessages about wrong indexvalues or a mysterious "#0" while runtime at the place, where my xfa.sourceSet.{Connectionname}.clone-reference got to be. Does anybody know a function in JavaScript/FormCalc to directly browse through the connected table? Or a working Syntax for SQL-Statements?
