how to run a plugin without displaying Forms

I am pretty sure that this can be done - I just can't quite seem to make it happen -

I have a plugin that will create a large number of PDF forms from XML data files.

This process runs currently and it is very useful but since we process a fairly large number of XML data files it can go on for a while and I would like to have it run with a minimum of screen IO or display.

can the plug-in be configured to run silently or nearly silently ?

I am not aware of any way to do that.
