Dropdown List Population From external form field

I have a dropdown field that contains names of staff.  I have many forms using the same dropdown list.   I would like the form to open and look to an external form with that same field for changes, and if so, dynamically make the change so that the form will always have the latest information thus I will not need to open EVERY SINGLE FILE (was that too loud?).

Guess I should rephrase that to be a plea for help.  Anyone know how to call the items list from a dropdown list in a different form on open?

Thank you for your reply Bruce. As I am not advanced in LC, this will

take me some time to figure out what it actually say, but looks like it is

the direction I am looking for. When I understand how to implement this,

I will try it and if it works, I will mark it as answered. I hope to

figure out how to use this example this week.
