Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2

I cannot get LiveCycle to work. If I open LiveCycle and start a new document it works fine but if I try to open a document LiveCycle crashes. I tried renaming the Designer folder and that hasn't helped.

I get different exception codes but this is the one that shows up the most often:

I haven't had a problem like this, is the document you are opening a PDF document or a XDP document.  If a PDF does it open in Acrobat? Can you post a link to your document, I can try a newer version of Designer, 8.2 must be five years old.

Unfortunately I cannot post a link to the document. It is a PDF document

and it will open in Acrobat. Sometimes when I open it in LiveCycle I can

look at the document but if I try to alter the tab order or do anything

else it crashes. Thanks for taking time to respond i'm sorry I can't be
