Problem deploying ARES LiveCycle ears on WebLogic Server 8.1_5

Not applicable
Hello,

I'm trying to deploy ARES LiveCycle on WL Server 8.1 SP5 (running on WinXP Pro), and am running into errors when I get to the part of the Configuration Manager installer that tries to deploy LiveCycle.ear, adobe-FontManager.ear, and LiveCycle-security.ear.

Each time I try to deploy, the installer will think for a minute, then I'll see an ugly stack trace in the WebLogic server and the installer will tell me that deployment failed.

I used all of the ARES defaults where I could in the installer. The only thing I changed was the WebLogic port.

Has anyone else run into issues with ARES on WebLogic? Any ideas?

Here is my ugly stack trace - very long. Thanks for any insight.

May 24, 2007 5:23:27 PM com.adobe.logging.AdobeLoggerImpl <clinit>
INFO: Logging level null
May 24, 2007 5:23:27 PM com.adobe.logging.AdobeLoggerImpl <clinit>
INFO: Logging level null
<May 24, 2007 5:23:27 PM EDT> <Error> <com.adobe.service.ServerLifeCycleListener
> <000000> <BMC001: Unexpected exception while starting an Adobe Service
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
at com.adobe.service.ServiceAPI.<init>(ServiceAPI.java:75)
at com.adobe.service.Service.<init>(Service.java:69)
at com.adobe.service.DataManagerService.<init>(DataManagerService.java:2
6)
at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method)

at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(NativeConstruct
orAccessorImpl.java:39)
at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(DelegatingC
onstructorAccessorImpl.java:27)
at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Constructor.java:274)
at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Class.java:308)
at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:261)
at com.adobe.service.ServerLifeCycleListener.contextInitialized(ServerLi
feCycleListener.java:29)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppServletContext$FireContextListenerAct
ion.run(WebAppServletContext.java:7044)
at weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject.doAs(Authenticate
dSubject.java:321)
at weblogic.security.service.SecurityManager.runAs(SecurityManager.java:
121)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppServletContext.notifyCreated(WebAppSe
rvletContext.java:1753)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppServletContext.preloadResources(WebAp
pServletContext.java:3352)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppServletContext.setStarted(WebAppServl
etContext.java:6208)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppModule.start(WebAppModule.java:864)
at weblogic.j2ee.J2EEApplicationContainer.start(J2EEApplicationContainer
.java:2134)
at weblogic.j2ee.J2EEApplicationContainer.activate(J2EEApplicationContai
ner.java:2175)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer$ComponentActivateTask.
activateContainer(SlaveDeployer.java:2520)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer$ActivateTask.doCommit(
SlaveDeployer.java:2438)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer$Task.commit(SlaveDeplo
yer.java:2155)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer$Task.checkAutoCommit(S
laveDeployer.java:2254)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer$Task.prepare(SlaveDepl
oyer.java:2149)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer$ActivateTask.prepare(S
laveDeployer.java:2401)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer.processPrepareTask(Sla
veDeployer.java:883)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer.prepareDelta(SlaveDepl
oyer.java:591)
at weblogic.management.deploy.slave.SlaveDeployer.prepareUpdate(SlaveDep
loyer.java:500)
at weblogic.drs.internal.SlaveCallbackHandler$1.execute(SlaveCallbackHan
dler.java:25)
at weblogic.kernel.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:224)
at weblogic.kernel.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:183)
C
