Linking Excel/Database Data to a Form Help please 8/2008

Former Community Member
this was a question someone made some time ago and i have the same question since no one answered it.

I have prepared a form in LiveCycle Designer 9. Now I am trying to figure a way of linking data in an Excel Spreadsheet (or some "converted" form of an Excel spreadsheet) to areas in the form. What I would like to be able to do is update the spreadsheet, click on a link to the form template within the spreadsheet, and have the form populated with a particular row of data from the spreadsheet.

Is there a way of linking a cell in an Excel spreadsheet to a "cell" in a LiveCycle form, so that it automatically updates upon opening the form, and if so, how is this done? I am obviously a novice at this.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
