Keystroke data formatting

A customer has asked that data in a field be automatically formatted (insertion of spacers) as the user enters the data. The format should be 9999/999/99/9 where 9 represents any digit. The data is entered into combed field. As soon as the customer has entered the first four digits, the first forward slash should automatically appear, after the next 3 digits the next forward slash should appear and so on.

I have tried running a script under the change event but this is not possible since the value has not been committed. It is possible to define this data pattern, but the mask is only applied after the value is committed.

Does anyone know how to do this? I am using Designer 8.

Having the same issue. Looking for an input mask which replicates the same function in MS Access. Haven't found any leads yet.
