Imagine that a customer buys an LC license with Process Management, RE and Rights Management. So when installing the server the license key shows only these products available for the user. All of these are installed and the customer is happy.
After some time the customer is so happy with LC that they want to expand it with a new product (Digital signatures ES, Output ES or what ever).
How do you install these products to the same server you have just set up once and is working fine.

You would have to run the configuration manager and enter the appropriate license keys.
