Hide the print item from file menu and the print icon

Hello.



I´m fairly new using LiveCycle Designer. I´m developing an application where I need to hide the print item from the file menu and the print icon, and only allow users to print using a "Print button". Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

I don't think you can. What are you trying to accomplish? Maybe there's another way.

There are references in the Acrobat JavaScript Scripting Reference. Look for app.hideMenuItem and app.hideToolBarButton. I haven't tried any of this stuff yet.

Hi,

you can hide the menu by Javascript, but if user presses F8 key, menu appears again.

I never found nothing better...



What do you need to do? Maybe there is another solution :-)
