has anybody an idea if it is possible to modify the properties of a Date/Time object, so that the user can only select a date from the calendar, but the manual input of a date is disabled?

I faced the same problem. I have not been able to find a way to force the user to the calendar date. I had to create a validation script to make sure they did not enter the wrong format.
I'm a greenhorn at this and just basically bought the program to do some simple forms. Can you tell me how / where the validation script would go and how I would build this?
If you select the field - select Object tab then Value tab - you will see Validation Pattern. Input your pattern here. You can also add a message associated with the error.
