Make Disabling Extensions Easier

At times there is a need to disable an extension.  For example the Facebook extension.  It's easy enough to disable the extension, but that doesn't at all do the trick.  You have to then go into each rule/data element that uses the extension and remove the condition/event that is used by the extension.  Instead it would be awesome if it just disabled that one aspect of the rule or data element.  Then upon re-enabling the extension, everything that is used or defined by the extension gets turned back on.
