What is the use of seed property in lucene oak index?

Hi Adobe community

I'm trying to create a lucene oak index for commerce and in one of the existing indexes there was one seed property. I've checked the jackrabbit docs but didn't found anything about it. Does anyone have any information about this property, use case of it and when to use it?

Hi,

Since version 4.0.0, EnsureOakIndex excludes property seed, and sub-tree [oak:QueryIndexDefinition]/facets/jcr:content]

Refer: https://github.com/Adobe-Consulting-Services/acs-aem-commons/issues/1609

Seed is a property used by oak that's used to generate random numbers used by the index.

Hope this helps!

Hello Ravi,

We are in process of moving to AEM as a Cloud Service ,and as part of it we have run Best Practice Analyzer and in the report it's showing error related to this property.

{"data":{"path":"/oak:index/xxxxxx","violation":"seed property is not allowed"},"type":"index.rule.violation"}

If this property is not supported what's recommendation to fix this issue.Even this error is thrown for OAK indexes created for the WKND project as well.

Any thoughts!!!

Thanks
