Hi

Please have a look at the reply from another expert:

"Language copies are basically translated content from main website like if we create a site in English and we can translate it in German..the translated site would be called as language copy

Live copies are simply multiple sites derived from a common site ie many sites sharing common content...like if we create a website for us and want to make it specific to each states ,i can make live copies from the main site..my content would be same for each state..it is just that i would do few variations for each live copy..so tomorrow if we have to update, say,  my header which is common to all my child sites, i can do the changes in main and can easily roll out to my children without the need to go to each site individually and make the change"

I hope this ill clear your doubt.

Hi

I have asked internal experts to give some inputs on this.

Hi

Please have a look at the response from the internal expert:

"Language copy is just a one-time copy it does not relate to MSM.

A Livecopy is a “managed” copy where the relation between source and copy has a lifecycle and can be managed in different ways"

I hope this will be of some help to you.
