I am not able to edit the components()Touch UI) that are included in the template using cq:include. I can edit the components without any issues on classic UI. I can see the placeholder for the component on the page but it looks like it is disabled. I can not opne the dialog box to edit it. This happens even with default out of the box components such as "Text" or "Title".

I quickly checked the geometrrix/en.html which has carousel included in the template. I was able to edit even in Touch UI

I have checked that, but its working for me. Even bsloki was able to edit the components.
I even have tried these two articles and then tried to edit the components, but its working fine.
Please have a look at the articles: - https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/creating-touchui-component.html (Creating touch ui component) and https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/touchui_webservices.html (touch ui web service).
Note: - Just wondering, have you used any piece of code to remove extra div generated by AEM ?
[Aem 6.0+]Make sure that your page component's sling:resourceSuperType is set to /foundation/components/page. It will inherit both dialog and cq:dialog.
I hope this would help you.
Thanks and Regards

I had also same issue, i resolved this issue by increasing the Number of Calls per Request in 'Apache Sling Main Servlet'.
