Is there any way to find a solution for below use case:
TEXT Component- Rich text editor: When I type £ or any other identifier, list of some values gets displayed in a dropdown and after selecting a value from dropdown, It shows in rich text area (Like I typed manually).

I don't think you can have too much customization with the richText editor, unless if you write some comprehensive frontend code to do what you want it to do.
For this functionality, to add the £ symbol, I would go into editable template, and enable special characters. From here you can add the £ symbol.
