my team is thinking about the possibility to remove live copies parent in order to have standalone pages. Is there a process to follow to achieve this goal? Do I have to detach the live copy or can I delete the global page from where I rolled out my live copy pages?

Try to use the detach option avaialble in page properties, this will permanently removes the live relationship between a live copy and its blueprint page. This way live copy pages will become a standalone and not dependent on blueprint pages. Once this is done, you can remove the source page.
