For some reason ,I'm not seeing a component that should be displayed in authoring mode. My colleagues have not issues seeing this component. I have an Admin account so I would assume that should be able to access and see everything.
Any recommendation on how to fix this issue. ?.

Hi
As Tuhin mentioned, if you are have a problem in not getting components in the sidekick, then try this:-
Link:- http://help-forums.adobe.com/content/adobeforums/en/experience-manager-forum/adobe-experience-manage... (OLd Forum Post)
Some Reference article for not showing newly created component in the Sidekick:

I hope this will help you.

Where are you not able to see the components? In the sidekick?
Then this might be of some help, http://blogs.adobe.com/sunil/2013/06/05/displaying-the-newly-created-component-in-the-sidekick-of-ad...
Since your other colleagues are able to see the components I assume that they are just fine and have proper components group assigned to them. Please let us know if this solves your problem or not.
Thanks
