MSM workflows are deeply confusing - blueprints and translation documentation
I'm surveying AEM as a possible replacement for our current suite of in-house CMS, DAM, i18n systems.
I downloaded and spun up an instance of AEM quickstart, and I'm trying to play around with building my own really basic site to test out translation workflows.
However, 2 things have occured to me:
1) What if I don't HAVE or WANT a blueprint site. This is my first site, so how can I possibly have a blueprint? When I try to create a new site, it asks me to choose a blueprint - it doesn't exist!?!
2) This page here: Website Administration
Has an image and description which seem to contradict each other / don't make sense:
Make sure to limit the use of multisite manager to content with one language ... => the diagram clearly shows 'site 1' with EN, FR, and DE within one site.
If the translation workflow is within language, does that mean that is has references to ALL sites within the one language that use that language?!?! The diagram does not clarify ANYTHING. In fact, I'm not sure what it's trying to illustrate.
Can anyone help?
