is it possible to restrict what components show up in the sidekick depending on page path?

Example: I have a component called component-X. I only want it to show when I am editing a page that resides inside /content/main/en.

------------------------------------------------------

I know I can control this using design mode but just trying to see if this can be done automatically/via code.

I tried allowedPaths and I guess it only works with templates.

Thanks

Hi,

I think this is not possible with either classic/touch UI to restrict components based on path.

Though you can do it with javascript to hide that component based on path where you are editing but it could be messy.

if it is not important and you really don't need, Please don't do it .

Thanks

Arun

Agree with Arun. This is not best practice and you can easily break existing functionality.
