Integrating Adobe commerce with use of Login/CIAM Solution

Avatar

Level 2

From my very limited understanding of Adobe Commerce, it's a storefront. Marketers can create product-related pages and details there.

In real scenarios, would external users (buyers visiting a website) interact directly with the Commerce Storefront? I am assuming Adobe Commerce has to be paired with Target, Campaign, or AEM to create a seamless customer experience.  Is this correct ?

Also if external users can visit commerce store, order products etc.. Can I bring my own CIAM solution to Adobe commerce and customize it

Hi @picklepa ,

The Experience Manager and Adobe Commerce are seamlessly integrated using the Commerce Integration Framework (CIF). CIF enables AEM to directly access and communicate with the commerce instance using Adobe Commerce’s GraphQL.

Within CIF, there is support for server-side and client-side communication patterns.
Server-side APIs calls are implemented using the built-in, generic GraphQL. in combination with a set of generated data model for the commerce GraphQL schema. Also, any GraphQL query or mutation in GQL format can be used.
