Hi,
This URL - https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/administer/integration/marketing-cloud/target.html - on integration has the following section
--------------------------------------------------
CONFIGURING EXTERNAL URLS
AEM uses the CQ Link Externalizer service to generate links that Adobe Target uses for accessing AEM campaigns. You must ensure that this service is configured correctly so that the link URLs do not use localhost.
--------------------------------------------------
Is it possible to connect from AEM working as localhost with Target?
Regards,
Anil

Yes , Its possible to connect to Target from Localhost. The Mbox location name (or default path to component in the page) you have given in AEM will show up in the Target for you to personalize. Did you configure the Adobe Target cloud service successfully in your local instance?

Yes, I did. I was able to connect subsequently but it doesnt give the same results are mentioned in the documentation. We were able to get it working under following observed specific environment:
1) I was working on my laptop and was on Internet (My corporate firewall seems to be blocking some url which is used)
2) I was able to see the mboxes in the Adobe Target but nothing else. I then created campaign, experiences, offer and targetted them in Adobe Target and it was reflecting in AEM
Is there a known list of small things that must be taken care to ensure things work. I see JS error on most of the pages that I am trying to target.
Thanks for help.

Hi
The article mentioned by Steve is not specific to 6.2. It would work for 6.0 as well. But the concept here is that target has been implemented on AEM via DTM not direct.
AEM-DTM connection 6.1:- https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/dtm.html
AEM-Target integration via DTM 6.2:- https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/integrate-digital-marketing-solutions.html
I would also ask documentation team to help you in this.
PS: It worked on localhost as well.
